Ordering Policy for Imperfect- Quality Deteriorating Items with Initial-Inspection and Allowable Shortage under the Condition of Permissible Delay in Payments

چکیده
While developing the inventory model with shortages under permissible delay in payments, it has been observed in the literature that the researchers have not considered the fact that the retailer can earn interest on the revenue generated after fulfilling the outstanding demand as soon as he receives the new consignment at the start of the cycle. Owing to this fact, the present study investigates the impact of interest earned from revenue generated after fulfilling the stock out at the start of the cycle on a single commodity inventory model with shortages for deteriorating item, in which the whole lot goes through an inspection process on arrival before entering into inventory system, under the conditions of permissible delay in payments. After inspection, the non-defective items are retained to fulfill the demand and the defective items are returned to the supplier. The results have been demonstrated with the help of a numerical example using the tools of Matlab7.0.1. Chandra K. An inventory model for non-instantaneous deteriorating items with imperfect quality, delay in payments and time value money
In this paper, Economic Order Quantity ( ) based model for non-instantaneous deteriorating items with imperfect quality, permissible delay in payments and inflation is proposed. We adopt a time-dependent demand function. Also, the effects of time value of money are studied using the Discounted Cash Flow approach. Moreover, we assume that orders may contain a random proportion of defective items...
متن کاملPricing and Replenishment Policies for Imperfect Quality Deteriorating Items Under Inflation and Permissible Delay in Payments
Usually it is assumed that all items in a lot are of good quality, but in reality this assumption may not always be pertinent. Thus, the inspection of lots becomes essential in almost all organizations. Moreover, its role becomes more vital when the items are deteriorating in nature. Owing to this fact, this paper investigates the impact of initial inspection on retailer’s pricing and ordering ...
متن کاملEOQ Model for Delayed Deteriorating Items with Shortages and Trade Credit Policy
This paper deals with a deterministic inventory model for deteriorating items under the condition of permissible delay in payments with constant demand rate is a function of time which differs from before and after deterioration for a single item. Shortages are allowed and completely backlogged which is a function of time. Under these assumptions, this paper develops a retailer's model for obta...
متن کاملOptimal Ordering Policy with Stock-Dependent Demand Rate under Permissible Delay in Payments
We develop an inventory model to determine optimal ordering policy under permissible delay in payment by considering demand rate to be stock dependent. Mathematical models are derived under two different cases: credit period being greater than or equal to cycle time for settling the account, and credit period being less than or equal to cycle time for settling the account. The results are illus...
متن کاملEOQ Model for Weibull Deteriorating Items with Imperfect Quality, Shortages and Time Varying Holding Cost Under Permissable Delay in Payments
In this paper a deterministic inventory model with imperfect quality have been developed for deteriorating items with two parameters Weibull distribution deterioration and time dependent holding cost. Shortages are allowed and are completely backlogged. The model has been framed to study the items whose deterioration rate increase with time under permissible delay in payments with imperfect qua...
